“Death and life [are] in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Proverbs 18:21.
I am reminded of the idleness of our words at times when my little son repeats something he has heard. Instead of looking at him astonishingly, I’m instead taking an introspective look at my life, my words, my thoughts as I look into the mirror of God’s word.
How often do we doom ourselves with negative speak? We have an “I can’t” attitude, and seal our fate by the power of our words. Instead of speaking defeat, negativity, pessimism, let us speaks words of encouragement, and positivity. I’d much rather hear these repeated by my children than the former.
If you’re wondering what’s coming out of your mouth, listen closely to the words of your children.
