Have you ever sold a home that you’re living in? If the answer is yes, then you know the constant work involved in such an arrangement. Not only do you have to make updates to fixtures and splash some new paint on the walls, but you also have to de-clutter – get rid of all your junk. It’s amazing the amount of junk we can accumulate. And what of housekeeping? This arrangement absolutely demands that your house remain spotless at ALL times. When you may have slacked in this area before, you surely are meticulous now because you know that a potential buyer could show up at your door at any time with only a moment’s notice. There is a need for preparedness and readiness at ALL times.
This is how it is with the Lord. He expects us to continually keep our homes, our lives clean. Knowing that the Lord could show up at any moment, we should work diligently to ensure that our lives are sanctified, beautified, so that when Jesus returns, they will be glorified. Keep your vessel spotless and without blemish because we don’t know when the Lord will return. I want to be ready, don’t you?
If you find yourself in an outdated life, and your walls lack the beauty they once held, and there is so much junk cluttering up your mind and heart, then its’ time to sell out to the Lord.– Jamie
